Default Big bore help

I'm installing a 95" big bore on my 2001 EGC and I found a set of heads from a 103 CVO, does anyone know if these would work on my build and would I get improved air flow? I here that 1996 and above heads flow better, is this true?

Thanks

Get a specific part number...I remember reading at one time that "CVO" heads were being dumped on ebay because they had a potential to fail.

in terms of flow- you can get about any result you want from having your heads worked- the key is choosing the correct spec to match your cams, exhaust, and intake fuel delivery system.

you need to match this because "hi flow" can also mean "less velocity"- which may work with one type of motor build but not another

It all depends what your desired end result is.

that would be a discussion with an experienced tuner/builder.

The 110 heads had the problems. 103 CVO heads should work fine and increase flow over pre 06 heads. 1996 would be an Evo. Think you meant 2006

Or maybe he meant 96" and above heads?

No I meant 2006 and above, but thanks. I would love to get my stock heads flowed, but damn, it's right costly. Trying do be thrifty.

The heads should work fine but I do not know the CC's of the heads in question. You will need to pick a piston that will compliment your build with these heads as I am sure they are not stock 84-86 CC combustion chamber.

There are HDF sponsors who do head porting and provide other tuning services. They can probably also advise on those 103" heads. I don't see how buying a second set of heads is thrifty! Far better to make the most of those you already have.

I was able to obtain a nice set of head off a 2008 that was wrecked and had only 1700 miles for $200. That should add the flow I need. Not looking to race. But thanks. According to Bigboys these later model heads flow allot better.

Hey Brown, CVO 103 heads for $225 is thrifty. Considering the prices I have been getting to rework my heads. But no issue now.
