I don't know what you did in another thread to give cause for such a lecture but I perfectly OK with your question.
My first "mod" on my SG was the biketronics Sony marine head unit and titan 2 speakers. I didn't get an amp and they are still really loud and decent sound. I wanted something easy, as I'm far from being a good wrencher. The install was super easy even for me. I love that the head unit hides my iPod inside it. I got the retro fit so it works with my stock hand controls as well as the stock volume adjustment depending on your speed.
I have not had any problems with my hand controls not working, sounds like the person with that issue may have a short or bad connection. Had my system about a year now and it works great. I would recommend biketronics based on my experience.
BT is great, products and customer service. In all of the threads I've ever read this is first for me to see someone complain about anything. Bill is a great guy and very responsive.
What are your other options? Have you looked into any others? I have the BT 6.5's and 6x9's with a BT2180 on my EG. Loud, clear and all function work with hand controls.
I just finished installing the "ultranutz" Polk set up on my 2nd bike and it rocks too. (used the BT retro kit) 2 pair of MM651's and 1 pair of MM691's. Yes it's loud and yes it's clear.

Bought the the BT kit for Poice bikes, upgraded the speakers to 140w Herzt, could not be more pleased.
If you do upgrade, get something with USB, have 18 albums loaded on a 8G thumbdrive, still has 60% left for more, and that is with backup maps for my bike and Mommas loaded for spares if we ever need thwm.
Call and order the new BT 7.1 size front fairing speakers. The customer service is outstanding and they stride to make every interaction a positive one.
You can find a cheaper speaker but we should be supporting those companies that support our HD cycles.

"ultranutz" is tha man when it comes to audio, very, very knowledgable guy. You can't go wrong w the Polks, especially if he recommends them.. I will be replacing my Titans 2 and going for the Polks myself soon, well, in sometime.

wow - which do you like better and why? Especially curious which has better mid/low (more than just all out loudness).

I know the polks are good, but didn't think they were as good as the HAT/BT Titan II's. Curious what ACRBlaze says as he has both to compare side by side.
And i didn't think the original question was, i know i've asked a lot worse...
I'd probably cut you some slack just because of that gorgeous 09 blue/white 25R!
UN is the man, so is GP, and HPM (not sure who peed in his cheerios...) - they absolutely helped steer me into a much more $ system than i originally planned...lol. wasn't hard. Looking now on a system for my brothers 07 EGC and looking at the MM651's and TBD amp.
Keep asking questions and the good guys here will help! Don't neglect the Buell - make sure still gets some road time (stereo or no stereo)!
