picked up my elec glide classic yesterday. LOVE IT but wondering. the bike seems unstaedy on the jiffy stand like i could push it forward and knock it off? normal?cant get my foot /toe under the shifter. is that hard to adjust??is it on a spline? do i have to loosen the retain bolt slide off post and reposition or just loosen and reposition??and whats with this ambient temp guage ? im riding in 20-30 degree weather and this things reading round 40 plus seems useless to me.
The stand is as steady as is needed! It's perhaps the best OEM stand there is. Many the person thinks they are not a first, but you won't have any problems at all. Crank the front to the left and that makes it even better.
That stand locks when you put the weight of the bike on it. It ain't going no where. Your right the temp guage they put on these bikes is usually. Most change it out to a oil temp guage. Some whizz kid engineer/designer must of come of with this useless thought. The shifter arms can be adjusted if I remember right.
thanks guys. like the oil temp guage idae. hey accurate is the fuel guage and speedo on these? and not to appear REALLY stupid but how do you use a cvr on these things with the antenna and can you recc one?
The shifter is adjustable, but you need to completley remove the bolt, then reposition the shifter on the spline. I adjusted my rear (heal) shifter and it makes it much eaiser to shift and I don't scuff up my toe upshifting on the way to work.

ok just to be clear. i dont have to remove the shifter from the post -just pull the bolt all the way out, adj shifter and then replace bolt and tighten> correct?thanks BTW

Fuel guage accuracy varies from bike to bike. My warnig light comes
on with 1 gallon left. Experiment a little. Get gas when your guage
show 3/4, note the mileage and how much gas it takes. Do the same
with the warning light.
Both my bikes are different but they are consistent.
