My everyday gloves are deerskin I picked up at a rally many years ago (they are getting worn so need to find some more), I have some thin liners I got a REI I use with them on those cooler mornings/days. Have gerbings when it gets cold and some mesh dirtbike ones when it gets hot.
in summer I use what the cops use the short wrist leather gloves $30 bucks at there uniform shop, winter deer skin gauntlet with silk liners very very comphy bud
I bought a pair of fingerless Qwi gloves when a friend was ordering so we could get better pricing. Have bought more of them as the gel inserts and style of the gloves work great on my 3X hands. Also picked up a heavier leather set of gauntlets in Estes Park CO when we did the Rocky Mtn Nat'l park ride, they are First Manufacturing Classics, no gel pads.
another vote for fox creek leather. stand by their leather products. have jacket, pants, gloves and belt. great folks and made us usa on most things. a little expensive on some things, but well worth it in my opinion. stuff lasts. http://www.foxcreekleather.com/mens_mensdeerskin
I'm a Fire Fighter/ EMT and shop at an EMS supply store locally. So I agree with "Ynots" try'em on! See what FEELS right. I got a nice pair of Motor-Police gauntlets for cold weather and also have thin light weights skins and gel-palms and mid-weights! Gotta have choices, Man!

I am looking for a new pair of riding gloves.
Can someone recommend a brand name or a website that sells a decent pair of leather gloves.
Thanks
Olympia is the best I have ever owned. Very comfortable, warm and dry. I have worn most brands ,over the years, this is the brand I buy. For cheaper gloves, go to www.cyclegear.com. For good close out prices on gloves got to www.jafrum.com or www.motorcyclegear.com or www.leatherup.com check their closeout sections.
Depending on weather I switch between 3 different gloves. J&P Deerskin full finger, cheaply made and just OK, Fox Creek full finger, lined deerskin for colder weather (not really effective, even in Florida). And finally my original Harley-Davidson full finger unlined daily use gloves. By far, the best gloves are the Harley-Davidson gloves. These gloves are thicker than the others with better "feel" and superior tactile sensation than any glove I've tried so far. Clearly I prefer the H-D gloves.
Guess I need to get myself a pair of fingerless gloves. I really hate the feeling of gloves. I'm a very beginner to riding and today took a spill going around a corner and have a fairly nasty scrape on the back of my hand. Almost first words out of hubby's mouth was, should have been wearing your gloves, ugh!!!
I'm happy that all you got was a scrape, I'm sure you will be getting some gloves now!
I wear full leather gloves all the time on the bike, even when it's hot.
Those hands can take a beating when they contact tar!
Picked up a nice pair at the dealers on sale during one of my rare appearances
at the dealership.
