Just added the internal Boom! XM module to my 2013 HD Electra Glide Limited. Love how everything is completely integrated into the radio display and hand controls.
Its a little pricey but the additional safety factor of having everthing on the hand controls is worth it. It literally took about 5 minutes to install once I removed the front faring.
Everything was plug and play.
Just wondering if very many other people have this on their bikes!
New to the forum and have been trying to decide whether or not to pull the trigger on the XM route. Heading to Sturgis in August and it would be nice to have. Can you explain what the Boom XM Module actually is vs. the Road Tech XM module you add to the handle bars.
I found a complete almost new satellite set-up for $250.
Of course it was in Chicago and the guy wouldn't ship it BUT thanks to forum member tinman265 who's from the Chicago area, he met with the seller, paid for it and had it shipped to me.
That's what this forum is all about, members helping members......
The module mounts right beside the CB under the faring. The advantages are that is much safer to operate. It add the XM option to you radio toggle. The song and station info are on the display. Completely integrated. No worry about someone stealing it either. Plug and play all the way.
I have wanted to install one but can't bring myself to $400+. If they would price it realistically around $150 or so I'd be all over it. Until I find one someone wants to bail on for a don't price I will go without. (Which considering I have it on 2 other vehicles and on my Goldwing bugs the hell out of me not having it)
Just bought one one on Ebay. Didn't pay a great price for it. Could have saved a bunch if I bought the buy it now auction that came up the NEXT DAY.
Oh well, purchased the Non-Ultra harness from the local dealer and stripped all of the non xm parts from the cable. Going to be tight under there with the amp the way it is. That 2" wad of cables needed to go.
