Default 2011 FLHTK $$$ Values

What should I list or better yet what would you pay for a 2011 FLHTK.

Down in South Texas near Corpus Christi and thinking about getting out of the game for a while.

2011 FLHTK vivid black with a few k,s in upgrades, such as chrome, stereo, cat delete, and power vision.

30,000 miles on the clock.

Check NADA for values, that's your best resource and what most dealers use. Used market blows right now, good luck.

My rule of thumb is that fair private party pricing is a little higher than the average of the KBB trade in and retail values.

owner added extras are often a wash- they may hold no value to the next owner- and might even be a negative in the case of a $5000 mural of a viking fighting a tiger

In my experience getting a fair price may take months for the right Guy to come along.

Beware of time wasters and tire kickers- if they do not know what a FLHTK is, they will not appreciate your bike.

I meet prospective buyers at a local gas station next to a bank- totally covered with security cameras.

NO test rides---- I have run the bike for them, even given rides to Buyers wife.

Instead of a test ride I offer the buyer a 24 hour approval period, with a 100 mile allowance- offer to return full purchase price less title transaction and notary fees.

Never had anyone change their mind.

23.5 average retail, that's incredible maybe could trade add-ons for the (what may seem like) high mileage.

Sounds like a pretty good policy. Guess the only way you would ride mine is if I seen you pull up on one of equal size. And that's a big maybe.

Just advertise it as an Ultra Classic Limited, those ridiculous Model #'s mean nothing to most including me.

Keep in mind it's only worth what someone will pay. It's a lot easier for most to just go buy a new one. The market is full of low mileage used HD's.

KBB also has a formula for add-ons 40% of verified rect's from aftermarket, 65% of factory added options

KBB thinks, assuming a mileage of 10k;

trade in $16,550

retail $21,285

NO test rides ever.
Heard too many stories of thefts or damage...let them buy it, then ride it like they own it.
just cause they pull up on something does not mean they own it ( "I'll leave my car here...")

21's not out of the question and I just remembered another 1500 in the chrome front end and zumo 550.

I need to start adding this stuff up.

Or...........let the bike sell itself when people start looking.

My shop sets along side a busy highway, so it will get plenty of exposure.

Look at eBay and Craigslist too. $21.5K seems kinda steep, didn't pay much more than that for mine brand new. Most people don't much appreciate everything you've added and what all of that cost you. I do hope you get top dollar....good luck!
