Just another reason, besides cracking jam nuts, not to use the SE adjustable pushrods.

I must be doing something wrong. I have the tool. Used it once. I use a small flat blade screwdriver. It takes less than a minute to remove, and reinstall all 4 of my pushrod tube clips. I've never busted a knuckle, or scratched my bike. Yall may be over thinking this...

well finally got the clips in. i used the handle side of the screwdriver to get more leverage and they all popped in. thanks for the help. now that i got them in I started bike and now have a ticking. so teardown begins to start again to readjust pushrods.

Go 3 full turns instead of the recommended 2 1/2 turns and it "should" stop the ticking.

The older version had cracking nut issues and not being able to get the clips on is an installer issue. Granted there are better pushrods out there and I normally don't recommend HD parts but there are many, many SE pushrods being used in the real world without any issues.

Yep that is a pretty common problem/solution.
