Default Street Glide People - Wheels

Yes wheels as the title says..

So what is your ideal combination of wheel sizes?

Stock we run on 16" rear and 18" front for a 2012 SG

CVO runs 18" rear and 19" front

So what do you run, why and what difference does it make?

I'm sure you know that a thread like this is a thread akin to opinions on oils, cams, etc. Nonetheless, it is fun to see what peoples' opinions are, and why. I bought my SG a year ago-Memorial Day weekend, and will actually "finish" major changes to it this coming Friday - wheels. (I know, folks can laugh and say that the modding never ends, but I sure can't think of anything material that I want to do.) At any rate, I am going the 19/18 mirror chrome Agitator route. Folks can say "boring", "too many of them", etc. I really like the way the 19" looks under the fender. I don't need or want anything bigger. I presume that my ride won't be appreciably different than it is now...

i went the same, 19 front, 18 rear. and no, the ride was not much different, if at all. it sure does look good though

and same for me, i know there are a lot of agitators out there, but for the price, i couldn't pass it up. i got the complete mirror chrome set up, front and rear wheels, spacers, front rotors, and new rubber for $1500 shipped (from an individual wanting to go a different route).

This is what I was expecting to an extent, ride perhaps a little firmer but effectively the same height both due to lower profile tyres used on the 18/19 combination. in other words, looks cool but slightly harsher ride and it would/should get worse the bigger the wheel size.

18/19 was what I was thinking of...

Shipped from where? What are the front and rear tire sizes you need to get for the agitators?

I got 21/17 from Coastal Moto being delivered Wednesday. I am still undecided on lowering the front. Was looking at dop in and monotube, but I think I am gonna ride it as is to see how I like it first.

oh, sorry. meant to mention that i got them from an individual. he had only had them for about 2500 miles and he decided to go a different direction with his bike. so as not to mislead anyone, i edited my original post.

the front tire is a 130/60-19, which is stock size for the cvo
the rear tire is a 200/50-18, which is not the stock size. stock size is a 180/55-18.

the one i have is not the multi tread compound tire so if i get 7,500 miles (10,000 - the 2,500 already on it) then i will consider myself lucky. when it wears out, i will be replacing it with the stock 180/55-18 with the multi tread compound. i am a cheap bastage and with the mt tires i can get 20k or better on them. and for a whole lot less than what the 200 costs to boot.

PM Heathen's .... 21x3.5/Metzeler ME880 120/70V-21's & 17x6/Metzeler ME880 200/50ZR-17's. Stock ride height ... many go lower, but I will be going to a 200/55ZR-17 for a little more much needed ground clearance.

It is great to get others' opinions, but, at the end of the day, go with what you like and what will work best for you!
