Hi All I googled and searched but did not really find my answer. Here's my set up 2001 RK SE big bore, true duels, high flow airfilter and 211 cam kit. I pretty much bought this bike this way over the winter.
Our the 211 cam's stock in a 1550 engine. I do understnad the are med.- to high range cams.
One more ?. If the cams are stock : Other then SC stamped on the side of the heads this bike is just a 1550 instead of 1450 ?
Your bike was converted from 88" to 95", probably with an SE kit. The current version of that has 203 cams, not 211, however the 211 may have been in the kit when your bike was converted, or the customer selected them for some reason. If you have any service records you could contact the dealer who did the work, for more details.
The SE211 cams have been a favorite of mine for several years. They have a hot rod idle that is hard to get in a twin cam motor. Unfortunately, they got a bad reputation as being soft on the bottom, because folks would just slap them into any old motor without regard for compression. They work best with higher compression builds, and if your motor was put together right, it should walk away from a normal stage II build with flat tops and 203s.
That's what I was looking for. The paper work I got form the 2nd owner (I'm 3rd) just say's 1550 piston FL ( I know the bike is fast from the start) The work was done by Cycraft out of Boston , looks like it left the show room floor and got a rebuild before hitting the pavement. All the supporting paper work is in my hands. The only thing that I don't see is if
ECU has been changed out 1to a 2.
what would you call this stage 2 ?
Thank you for your time.
I've never seen these 'stages' spelled out in black and white, so I'm not sure which one your bike is at. I eventually installed an entirely new engine in my bike and have yet to identify which stage that is!
