Default power vision/auto tune pro/Dyno tune

hey guys I had s&s 106 kit woods 555 cam and the tuner set up above, the builder ran 6 auto tune sessions and I ran 2 but it seems to be running rich I want to get it to run as best as I can and I am thinking of just taking it in for a dyno tune from a professional and maybe selling the auto tune pro. at idle it kinda surges a lil and when I give it gas I can see some black smoke not alot though and can smell gas.. I just want to get it right and forget it lol what do you guys think I should do?

Was the tuner purchased through Fuel Moto? If so, maybe send them a copy of the map to evaluate?

Find a good dyno guy! Only way to properly tune these things!

The autotune can only tune to the targets you provide. If it's running too rich you're targets are probably set too rich.

The autotune is not some magical component that does what its name implies... It does not automatically tune your bike. It only makes adjustments to hit the targets you provide.

Agree entirely! You may be surprised how much better your bike runs afterwards.

The AutoTune only tunes based on what the map in the PCV is set for and what the AFR's are set at. Therefore, if the map is incorrect or way off base then the AT will never be able to catch up with the changes it needs to make to match the map. That's why we need to find the closest map for whatever setup we're running, and then let the AT try to do the fine tuning. You can try and run a radical map but you will always be seeing big trim numbers.

So is it the basic AT or do you have the AT-100 with the wide band kit in it? You need the wideband kit in order to run Autotune Pro, and you do need AT-Pro for that setup.

There is a huge thread on this over in the Tech section. But this is not a device for someone that doesn't want to invest some time in learning how to use it. So if you are easily frustrated by technology you might want to consider just getting the bike to a really good tuner (if you can find one) and going that route.

thanks guys.. yes it is the auto tune pro kit. I been looking for info on where all the parameters should be set at before running auto tune pro but can find it.. I dont have a clue what I would have to set these at. I think I am just going to sell the pro set up to pay for a dyno tune then I can just forget it and ride lol
