Guys this is gonna open up a can or worms but I figured I would weigh everyones feedback.
I just moved into the touring bikes and LOVE them already. I got me a 2012 Electra Glide Classic. I am possibly looking for a better seat. The stock one isn't working for me. I need a seat that is more cushiony and also lowers my seat height. I am on my tip toes when stopped and I dont like that. Throw me out some ideas!!!
go to the dealer for the "fit shop" they will give you alternatives such as lower rear shocks, lowering the forks, and a variety of lower seats etc etc.
( and of course there are other seat manufacturers)
in most cases, lowering the bike reduces handling nimbleness, shorter suspension travel gives a harsher ride
a lower seat has less padding so comfort may be compromised.
I use the the stock ultra seat touring, and a streetglide seat in town, dayrides( under 4 or 5 hour riding)
and a brawler solo when not going far
I use streetglide 12" shocks in town and swap to stock 13" shocks when I tour
I swap the windscreen to suit as each seat has my eyes at a different height, I have different height windscreens

Just received back stock 08 UC seat from MCC. Had Allen lower rider 1.5 inches and move rider back 1.5 inches including double decker memory foam for rider and passenger. Also had .5 inch shaved off each side at thigh area. Installed and took about 50 mile ride. Achieved desired effect of sitting more in the bike rather on top of gas tank. Even with two layers of memory foam, seat is somewhat firm, but to be expected. Will see what next 1000 miles or so has affect on eliminating butt burn. Workmanship is outstanding. Even the seat backrest gap is non-existent. Thanks to Allen and to his whole team. Outstanding customer service in answering questions
