Default RE: Hand grips......need some input

I run the Chrome and Rubber horizontal grips (large) on my Roadking and Kuryakyn Iso-grips on my Ultra. I tried some of the cushioned leather variety several years ago and found them comfortable EXCEPT when I had to put glove covers on due to an all day downpour, my hand kepts slipping on the grips. Hence, the ribbed variety are my choice. So far the Iso grips are the best I have tried personally, but I have no idea of their durability as they just went on last year. The Chrome and rubber H-D grips have been on the Roadking since 2001 with no noticable wear.

I know this is crazy and a lot of people will dispute it but the stock grips are the most comfortable for me because I have big hands. Whenever I've had grips with the chrome ****-like end it cuts into the outside palms of my hands during long rides. If you have big hands that's something to consider.
I too was a big fan of the stock grips. Comfortable rubber, hands never got tired. Then I saw the grips on the 2007 Screamin Eagle Springer! Mostly rubber, small section of chrome for some "Bling". They were a special order and about $59.00 each buy I had tohave them for my bike. Took almost a month for my dealer to get the part numbers. They are sold as a left & a right. Not as a set. But I love both the look & feel of them.

Just my opinion, others will vary.

Ride Safe,

Mike

Kuryakyn Iso grips - very popular...absorb vibrations...do a search...you don't need the throttle boss as you have cruise control.
Those are my favorites, put plenty of miles on them on my Sporty and are nice and cushy.

I'd still get the throttle boss for them just to "palm" the throttle for a sec to loosen the death grip

So far I've narrowed it down to these:

#1(PN #56006-88C)

#2(PN#56799-04 or 56459-01A)

#3(PN#56510-02)

#4(PN#57052-07)

#5(PN#6205)

#6(PN#56711-03)

I really like #2, #4, #5 but I can't decide.[:@]

I see # 4 has been added to the catalogs now. And at a much lower price than I paid last year [:@][:'(]. Oh well , that is the way most things go for me! I still love them though.

Ride Safe,

Mike

Go for the SE ones...
Kury's are boring.
The rubber ones with the chrome caps too...

I still like the x2's best, but those SE ones are pretty cool and clearanced for tight cornering!

these are the grips i wish i had put on my bike, i ended up getting a ness set as a gift so these will have to wait awhile. a buddyof mine just putthese on his dyna, they are awesome and way comfortable. they are from performance machine and they are wrapped in renthal rubber. its kinda strange they almost fell sticky when you grip them but they arent at all. the just have a very good grip and feel to them, very secure feeling in your hands. the pic doesnt do them justice at all! they look killer! they are available in chrome also, if you are into the chrome look instead.

i have the classic design heated grips ..............by hd

now ,they have a nice center rounded bulb that accomodates your hand .and gives a good grip.

and ,heat is not only for cold days .you can turn it on on 70 degree days and it helps a lot plus keeps the blood in your hands in curculation.
i will not ride without heated grips .

the best for long distance touring ,in my opinion.
