This oil change mystery has me intrigued as well...gotta find out the ending result/culprit. Will nomad billy get his bike back to running health, or does the oil keep disappearing...stay tuned!

Clean oil is hard to read on a dipstick sometimes. You have 5 qts in there. Too much oil will make an oil light come on also.

In theory it goes like this.

In a wet sump system it will because the crankshaft will beat the oil into a froth, thereby causing the pump to cavitate. That said I don' think it would work that way in a dry sump.
