Engine guys help please
Well gents thanks for the suggestions and help.I have officially entered myself into the dumbass of the month contest and possibly the year. After tearing into the bike with determination, missing a very good ride ,spending a relatively small amount of money on parts and gaskets I found the missing oil. While contemplating pulling the trans looking for a possible crack in the transfer tubes running through the trans a friend suggested closing my eyes and repeating all my steps. We then repeated them, conclusion,I pulled the wrong plug and drained my oil, what I read on the stick had hung there overnight and when I started it the pump sucked in that 1/3 of a qt I added allowing the light to go out momentarily,it came on when I walked away.
Changing the transfer hoses was maybe needed, maybe not, finding one tensioner going bad was also ok but nothing I found would have stopped the ride, my hard head was at fault.
Thanks again and remember, assume nothing as this leading contender for DA of the month has proven.

wait now I am confused. If you drained the oil and filled it and it is empty, there is still 4 Qts missing? I was never good at if the train was going one way and the other was going a different way math. Anyone else doing the math?
What he said !!!! Glad I am not the only one confused.
See. Didn't I suggest you go hang out with some new strippers and get your mind off of this for one night. Then go back, drain everything and make sure you refill with correct amounts and a new filter. Bingo. Problem solved. Nothing like a night of carousing and hitting the strip joints to clear your mind and make every little thing alright again. Glad you found your error and corrected it.
Step 1
Drain each hole and measure what comes out. If each area has the correct fluid measurrment for that component continue. If not post what you find and we will try and help.
Step 2
Before proceeding install a new filter
Step 3
Refill each hole with correct amount of flluid
Step 4
Run again for 10 minutes and recheck everything
