How many people are running black apes on their SG? I have black Yaffe MBB sitting in my garage while I am waiting on other parts to arrive. I am now thinking I should have gone with chrome bars and going with black controls and levers. I am waiting on my Renegade Lincoln Phantom Cut Wheels, Ness Smooth Chrome Forks and Fork Boots, Vivid Black Painted Inner Fairing. I am looking for a happy medium of black and chrome. I would like to see some pics if anyone is running black bars on a bike that is not totally blacked out.
If you plan on eventually chroming your lower legs, I would go with chrome bars. If you plan to powder coat them (I did), then I would go with black bars (I did).
I just reread your post and see that you will have chrome lower legs. So my opinion stands.
Here are some pics of my bars on bike that is not totally blacked out.

Here's my mix of chrome/black....in retrospect I'd have gone black but that's because now I'll eventually go all black. When I got the bars "I was going to be happy with just a 21, apes and bags".....you can see that has changed.
