polyfill wrap for speakers

i just did this today. i just tore up an old pillow and stuffed it in my fairing over the speakers. put quit a bit in there ,but could most likely use more. it did make a differance. same poly fill as you can buy, but it's like a big cotton ball.

After doing this mod, which I did not hear much of a difference, I blew both speakers.
Running the stock HK with a RF punch 300x2 amp and the Polk MM651's.
Ran em for a year w/ no issues then coming back from Sturgis through Nevada on a hot day they crapped out.
There is a thread specifically for melting 651's in the audio section also.
The poly fill in IMHO definitely adds heat retention and added to melting them.
Just an FYI for ya'll. Anyone else have similar issues with speaks after the polyfill mod?
