I know Klockwerks makes a windshield for the Road King with the curve at the top. They kinda started that thing with the batwing a couple years ago, now a half dozen makers at least market one for the batwing. Who else makes on for the Road King?? I like the Klockwerks flare but $205 for just the shield is more than I'd like to spend. Gotta be another name brand one out there......
Long Ride Shields makes them too. It is less expensive because it is made of impact-modified acrlyic rather than polycarbonate like the KW shield. The LRS folks claim that their shield meets DOT requirements, but as a plastics engineer, I can confirm that even impact modified acrylic does not have as good impact resistance as polycarbonate. PC (Lexan) is what they make auto headlight lenses and bullet proof glass from. The LRS shield is probably adequate in all but the most extreme impact situations and many folks are happy with them. But I put a KlockWerks Shield on my bike. I found it a little cheaper at $187.95 shipped here than direct from KW: http://www.directcycleparts.com/wind..._828_1382.html

Just looked at that KW Flare shield and it appears that it curves forward at the top so that it would catch more resistance against it. Not sure how I see these being an advantage over the stock shield.
