Default Truck Lite Phase 7

So i installed a TL Phase 7 on my '13 FLHX and now i'm getting interference in the radio. I had the bike on, and pulled the headlight fuse, and the radio cleared up back to normal. Has anyone else had this problem? Looking for possible fixes/suggestions.

Thanks!

Try to do a search on here. I know I have seen it recently, but did not pay attention to the fix, as I have not purchased the LED headlight yet

What Bow Tie said. I have seen a thread like that in the last week or so also. Dunno what the outcome was as I am curious to. I have a TLPH7 set waiting on me when this deployment is over ready to install. Waiting to hear the outcome, subscribed..

***UPDATE***

Ok. To give a little further information, I also have Custom Dynamics LED signals all the way around, Custom Dynamics signal stabilizer, and an Antenna Concepts powered hidden antenna.

After the first post the other day, I did some more trouble shooting on the bike. I was able to narrow it down to the LED Headlight and LED signals interfering with the amplifier on the antenna. I also plugged in a non-powered hidden antenna that I had laying around and anytime that antenna got close to the wires of the headlight or you turned the signals on, it interfered.

I emailed all 3 manufacturers and believe it or not I got responses from all of them.

Antenna Concepts are blaming the LED's for being "Made in China poorly engineered designs (not too sure i disagree with them.)" They were the least helpful.

Truck Lite stated they have had a similar complaint from another customer and that he put RFI Filters on the high beam, low beam, and negative circuits and that this fixed the problem.

The Custom Dynamics signal stablizer came with 2 RFI filters on the positive and negative wires that connected to the battery. They said to take the one off the positive cable and place it on the antenna wire in the faring. I placed it on the power wire going into the amplifier without any change. I then placed it on one of the 2 antenna wires coming out of the amplifier going to the longer antenna wires that are attached on the inside of the outer faring. I did notice a little difference...I think.

Getting ready to go on vacation for the rest of the week. When I get back I plan on getting a few more RFI filters and playing around with them some more...will update again next week.

So from reading your update, you mention an amplifier, did it have interference before the LED install? Alot of riders with amps on here have had RF interference, just sayin. Hope you figure it out, I'm still subscribed, lol..

It's the amplifier for the powered antenna, not an amp for speakers. However i'm guessing that it works similar to a speaker amp, hence maybe why i'm getting the interference...??

Still got some work to do when I get back from vacation. Stay safe wherever you may be deployed to!

I have the same lighting setup as you and same problem as you. It is from Trucklite ph 7. I installed headlight and passing lights at the same time and thats when the interferance started, when using turn signals there is a little bit of noise but not as bad as headlights. The problem is LED headlights.

Yep, it's the headlight....I noticed it after the install but I use Satellite radio which does not pick up the interference. I may look into those filters for the wiring on the LED headlight in case I want to listen to FM or the weather channels from time to time.

Did some internet searching and it's a common problem with LED headlights/driving lights installed in both cars, trucks & bikes.

Hopefully someone will find a fix and post the names and part numbers of the parts used to correct the interference.
