strange sound in turns
I have noticed when I go in to a left hand turn a whirring noise coming from the rear of the bike. it is a constant steady sound in the turns until the bike comes back up to center. It does not make this sound when riding straight and in a right hand turn I hear it but not as loud. I had the radio turned off talking to my lovely bride and noticed it when I was going through some sweeping turns. could it be the tire tread. As always thanks for your honest input.

Had the same problem on mine. Had the rear bearing replaced. Of course the dealer said they werent bad and that my rear tire needed air and had a bad wear pattern. However, they did change out the bearings, and the sound went away.

I agree it is most likely rear tire. Been there, had that happen, too.
One thing I have found is try to keep the chicken stripe as wide as possible. That wears the tires more even.

What do you mean they are feathered? Needs replaceing immediatly? I just noticed that my tire does the same but only has about 11,000 miles. Plenty of meat still befor the wear bars. I guess I will have to take a closer look at them tomorrow.

It's my 3rd rear tire. When it's time to replace, (Dunlop) does it everytime. No biggy, just time for a new one.
