Oil pressure zero at idle!

Yepper, it's nerve racking sitting at a stand still in high temps and watching your oil temp gauge climb steadily. As far as oil pressure, since I installed the Baisley Spring, my oil pressure does not go lower then 10-15lbs at idle on a hot day. As long as that red light does not come on, it's a non-issue.

My friends 06 SG did the same thing... We installed a Zippers pil pump spring to raise the pressure two years ago. Problem fixed. I did look at the backing plate to make sure no gouges were present b4 the install of the spring and his was good. I also aligned the pump with the Jims pins on reinstall. If you've never had the push rods out ... I suggest you buy a set of adjustable ones, and get a set of cams too....your in this deep may as well swap cams.

What your smelling is hot oil fumes, you wont smell hot oil if your using synthetic oil, only with conventional oil. So, if you using conventional then its normal hot oil smell.
