Just completed 3000 miles in two weeks on my 2012 RKC, now have 7000 + miles on her and not a year old. No issues other than the regulator re-call and a problem with the paint on the tank which is getting sorted under warranty in August.
Just come back from a trip to Normandy with a couple of friends, one on a new water cooled BMW GS. He just couldn't believe that the Harley had no problem keeping up and better fuel economy, Just goes to show, don't knock the HD, its old reputation of being a slug should be well buried.
My 2012 EGC has been flawless so far. I did put a hayden chain tensioner on it though.
Other than the "extra heat issue" is one that comes to mind but that's normal really, it can't breath right and its lean.
Second is the oil filter, adapter...When changing the oil filter I read where some have a problem with it leaking earl/oil at the filter after changing. The screw on filter adapter comes loose (somewhat) when taking off the oil filter. And yes it happened to me...I replaced the oil filter adapter gasket with a new one and tighten up a little beyond torque requirements with some quality red loc-tight...just a tad. No problems after wards so far.
Also added the Hayen M6 to the primary which has helped...I'm not to found of the ratcheting system used with that primary system...to each their own? Seems like it gets to tight and was hard to find neutral ...? Plus I've used Hayden before and I like it and an easy install.
And third, a recall notice the Voltage regular was replaced due to a bad batch used in production. I'm set up via Harley for other "Recall Notices" ..No other news is good news.
Add some dielectric grease to the TBW plug in on the throttle body and your good to go...No real major problems yet? Minor yes mostly operator error, you know...Major no...Not yet?
Biggest problem is the smile on my face...when riding...
