2012 Electra Glide Classic with 11,000 miles and no problems. I had 5,000+ miles on my Voltage Reg with no problems but dealership replaced it after the recall.
Had mine for over a year now and other than minor warranty adjustments, no issues either. Reading almost 11K on the clock. 39MPG, Stage I. Highway/city riding.
where did you hear that? the warranty is unlimited mileage, 24 months. if your salesman told you differently, find a new dealer.
I did know that. The F&I girl was new, and the paperwork was a bit scattered the day I made my purchase (the deal almost fell through because she struggled with some basics. They made good on it, and we chuckle at it now, but at the time it was rough). It's good know it's longer than thought, but I didn't buy it for the warranty coverage.
I bought the 2012 Ultra Limited last last year and have 8,000+ miles with absolutely no issues so far. My bike runs like a raped ape All my mileage consists of 2-up riding. The wife loves it!
Oh boy I just passed 7500 miles of pure wide grinned bliss going to Laconia this weekend! I had better sell her now before she gives me her first problemo! Lol For the record I passed by many broken down metrics on the ride to & back! Lol
I'm not aware of any major changes the MOCO did in 2012.
I have no idea whether or not this would apply or not but there was that thing where the MOCO was in a restructuring mode from about late 2009 until early 2013. Their stock dropped down to about $8.00 and there was a time when they didn't know if they were going to make it or not. Lots of employees were being fired as they downsized and there was considerable union strife going on. The new CEO was closing plants and making lots of changes. It could be that due to employee unhappiness that some bikes came out at less than desirable products. They even threatened to move the company head shed and most manufacturing down south to one of the right to work states if they didn't get the concessions they wanted. Don't forget that they started building and shipping bikes in June 2011 for the model year 2012.
You guys are all wrong! My 12 rkc sucks up money like crazy. It wanted chrome, headers, bars, seat... Now that proves the 2012's are problematic. Other than bleeding money from me, it's been flawless.
