I bought one of those horrible rental fleet bikes 3 months ago with 12K on it. Put 7,000 more miles on it with a 4K road trip down the coast and did the 1,000 mile Iron Butt this weekend...runs like a top.
Bought a 12 SG in November 2011. Windshield, seat and handlebars had to go immediately. That is personal (although I suspect they put poor OEM parts on to make you upgrade!)
Other than that just had the regulator replaced under warranty at no charge while on the road. Dealer even came and picked me and bike up on the road at no charge to me. The bike has been great overall. HD fixed the only problem I've had.
Also no Issues here, although I just got mine and i have put around 700 flawless miles on it..I am more interested on the Recalls..What is the best way to find out what has and has not been replaced on mine ?
A few things come to mind, wheel bearings, motor mounts, bad top end noise, leaking oil, bad compensators, bad tires (cracking)and pinging. just to name a few
Wow, Glad I didn't get one of those. I have almost 10,000 miles on mine. BEST bike I've ever had (SO FAR). Not a single problem.
