Thanks for the compliments. Some would say the changes take away from the classic RK look.I say it enhances them. Both Top Shop and Bad Dad have quality stuff.Just wanted bigger exhaust holes in the fender so orderd one without cuts and made them myself, then "backfilled" them with
fiberglass to give them a thicker look.

Here is the riding position on the HS vs. the RK...
It's a fairly subtle difference in these photos, but the bars on the King have my hand position more forward. Those Beach Bars on the HS were just like floating it seemed...
I did my research and found the same thing. I got a helluva deal on the whole HD kit including bars, brake lines, etc, so I rolled with the HD setup. I love em!!!

I had the stealership do the bars on the King when I bought her...they jacked up the clutch cable, but did pretty good work on the rest of it...I did the Springer myself (ALWAYS prefer this route) and was pleased with the result.
I think more than anything the Springer was more comfortable because I had the bars twisted down so much. In full side lock the hand grip was just barely above the tank.
I should leave this alone...I've almost got myself talked into another $300 project!
I've had my 08 classic for less than a month. I only wanted to do 2 things to it. Turn signal covers and beach bars....THEN I FOUND THIS THREAD! Good thing for the kids Christmas is already purchased!

I keep telling myself that I'm done..I just bought this thing to ride...Think again...
I've been riding H-D's for over 10 years and have had Ultra's and Road Glides. I currently have an '08 Road Glide, but have always loved the old school look of the Road King Classic. Now with the 103" standard I think it's time to give it a go. I was just wondering if others have gone from Ultra's and/or Road Glides to the Road King Classic and what your thoughts are (pros/cons)...Thanks!!
