I did that 0903 upgrade last week on my SE UC - it took away the ping... AWESOME!!

The new 0903 map did not change the pinging on my
07 Ultra Classic one little bit... [:'(]

I'm sure the Thunder Max I ordered will though"

Im not hearing the good reports on TMax as I hoped I would. Just found out its a map based setup too. I thought it just retuned to what the motor needed, but I now hear it can only adjust a certain amount and you must have the proper base map for it to work off of. Let us know how yours does.

Point me to the bad reports you've heard, I can find
nothing but positive happy customers every where
on the net!

Thanks..

I never said bad reports, have not seen one single dyno report showing what it does compared to SERT or PCIII. I have read lots of things about what people hope it does. I have read where your results are dependant on having the right base map. Just looking for real data not hopeful wish's.

OK" Thanks..

I guess you have just not read all the posts from people
that have been running the Thunder Max and know they
work real well for a fact from using them on their bikes.

I can not on any forum any where on the net find one
disatisfied customer using a Thunder Max on their Harley
any where, so I was finding your post hard to believe.

I'm glad thats all straight now...LOL"

Every dealer I've had ride mine saysmine does not ping!

My years of building motorcycle race engines and setting
countless national and world records says they are all
full of $H!T.............

HE!! I've rode other peoples 07's that they swear to me
theirs does not ping and when I ride them they are pinging
like crazy, so I guess most people are either deaf or very,
very ignorant about engines and how they should sound!

When my air temp gauge on my dash touchs 70 degrees
it pingings so bad it sounds like the heads are going to
blow off and hit me in the face! as soon as the temp
gauge hits 69 degrees or less the pinging stops completely!

I'm not complaining because the fact the EPA makes Harley
Davidson have to run to lean to pass their standards there
is no legal way to stop this problem. I just wish they would
not tell me it is running normal, it is only running to pass EPA
standards which is NOT NORMAL running for an air cooled
engine. Harley and their dealers just need to tell the truth
and everyone of their customers would understand, they
may not be happy or even like the truth, but the truth is
much better thengetting therun around any day IMO!

I don't like my pinging problem at all and I will fix it myself,
but please just tell me the truth and say it is out of your
control as long as EPA is in charge at point of sale so you
can roll the fix into the loan for the Harley right from the
start so you don't have to take money out of pocket after
the sale to fix it. I believe most people would be happy if
they were just told the truth at point of sale. I know I
would have been..

I still love my 100 year old rattle trap of a motorcycle no
matter what though" LOL"

Lets do clear something up, your "all the posts from people that run them" is a total of 2 or 3. LOL
Here's the thundermax thread and thats all I found. https://www.hdforums.com/m_980341/mpage_2/key_/tm.htm
And not one with anything more than their but dyno. Im not as easily wowed as you I guess. I prefer real data on the advantage to buying a 800+ part that gives the same result as a 200+ part.

I'm sorry thats all you could find on the whole world
wide internet on ever motorcycle forum out there.
I'm glad I found many more then that being they have
sold thousands of units.

Thats OK" my friend, because I've never been much of
a follower my whole life so being one of the first few
thousand guys to run a Thunder Max in stead of waiting
for everyone else to have them on their motorcycles
for years is OK" with me LOL" Thats why I have
Peacemaker mufflers on my Harley and not many
others have them either!

It should not PO people to ask for some real numbers on its performance gains. Hope it works for you.

I think the biggest downfall of this system is that most tuners dont what to learn it,and finding a tuner may take you far esp if your build goes outside there basic maps.Thats alot of cost vs a Sert or PC111.
