Being in Italy you can call REGINA CATENE CALIBRATE S.p.A.
(0039) 039 99801
and ask them to send you their literature about chains and tensioners. We use the model 08B2 (pitch= 08 * 1/16" == 1/2") B2 stands for two rows of rollers.
Since they are the OEM, they cannot say competition is better but they may tell you what is best for your application and the boundary conditions they provide with the original tensioner.
Well, I just checked my Hayden after 2800 miles. I wanted to check before heading to Milwaukee at the end of the month. After checking, I've decided to keep it installed and re-inspect it after another few thousand miles this winter. It seems to have dug in more towards the front of the shoe, but not as deep as the OP's. The rest of the length seems to be right at the level where the rollers would rest. Here are some pics:
is that normal with only 2800 miles? i've seen evo bikes with alot of miles on them and no where near that much wear on the shoe. maybe that's normal for the hayden. don't know.
Not sure if it's normal which is why I'm keeping a close eye on it. There are multiple threads on the Hayden and most show some wear down to the rollers.

I'm the OP and yours looks better then mine at 3000 miles did. If you look at my pics you can see the rollers had cut in to mine. Might be a good idea to take a look when you get another 2000 miles on yours.
I'm up to 1500 miles on the new shoe Hayden sent me only using 1 spring. So far so good but my primary seems to be making more clunking or chain slap noise just from hitting sharp bumps.
I'm still not happy that I had to go to 1 spring but I really like the idea of the Hayden moving with the chain. For my bike 2 springs are way to stiff on the newer style Hayden.
I think Hayden has me on a no answer list or something, I will start trying to call them again Tomorrow. Good luck to ya on yours.
How did everyone go with this problem? I just fitted one to my 2008 Street Glide yesterday and had 9/32" clearance with both springs installed. I emailed Hayden and they said it was a "good install". The original tensioner had done 27,500 miles and had hardly a mark on it. With the Hayden the chain feels a lot tighter. I'm still running the standard compensator. Thanks.
I tore mine out after 400 miles. The shoe had as much wear in it as the stock one did after 16,000 miles, and the primary was screaming the entire time. Don't know why, but the springs Hayden provided with my kit are too stiff for my bike.
Oddly, I installed one in a friend's Breakout and he's got no issues.
