I had mine in there for about 8000 miles with the bdl comp. comp went bad, so when I went in there I also found the inner spring had broken. could be because of the comp being siezed, but when I contacted hayden they charged me for new springs and said nothing about a revised spring, charged me 16.00. I haven't put them in yet, now I will measure the springs and see if the are indeed the new version

I got the older hayden in my 09 classic with about 15k and shows miminal wear and no noise so the older ones with their springs works good for me. got another thought on chain tension. The stock auto tensioner should keep the chain at around 1/2 inch play, just like the older manual ones, so there is movement up and down on the top, up so far down so far.when running it moves and vibrates very quickly which is transferred to all surrounding areas but this is seen as normal, so back to the hayden, the springs keep a good tension on the chain which causes wear. on the above system many on here states lots of miles with very low wear on the stock shoe. who says there has to be so much tension on the hayden. if one is run with lets say half the spring tension, it will still keep some tension on the chain which is better than the manual one, shoe will move much easier and less wear. just a thought.

had the BT-07 in my 2013 Road Glide for 4,000 miles. the whine was louder than the engine noise, I'm it impressed those in the cars around me. Any way the Hayden came out the OEM went back in. I contacted Hayden they said the grooves were "normal" and said the original springs were a tad stiff and they (Hayden) would send out a new shoe and the "new" springs. Didn't want to say what the melted nylon or whatever material from the shoe is going to do in the primary. By the way, this conversation was via e-mail in Dec of 2014 and still no new parts from Hayden. No recommendations from me and they can basically kiss my ***, they got my money why should they care?

Seems to be too many variables to consider it IMO.
Whenever I checked my chain it was fine.
Didn't see the point in swapping out the stocker?

Considering a Hayden in my '08 FXDC. Questions for those still reading this thread... why would a spring loaded tensioner make a chain tighter than a ratcheting stock one that never turns loose? Seems pretty counter intuitive if you ask me.

I"ll bet the Hayden won't shatter the first 3/8 of the clutch hub splines... check that one out.

As for you guys welding your stock tensioner.... really?... pulling your primary cover every 3k miles to check?.. .why would I want to pull my primary cover off three+ times a year?... If I wanted to go manual, I'd get a Baker... wouldn't have grind and reweld.

But, back to topic... anybody have updates?
