Far better if the "gang green" catch on that ethanol was a bad idea from start to finish. How many of you are aware that we all are paying a hidden tax(collected by the oil companies) to the government? There is a regulation requiring cellulosic ethanol in annually increasing amounts in our gasoline. If it isn't there, the oil companies are fined. The really aggravating fact is that there is little or NO cellulosic ethanol available to blend with the gasoline making compliance impossible, yet the oil companies are fined anyway. Of course, as with all business taxes, ultimately the customers pay all the taxes.
Cellulosic ethanol is made from fermenting vegetation, not from corn or sugar. Remember switch grass? Great sounding idea that didn't work, yet we are still paying for the error. Ethanol is bad for food prices and bad for our vehicles, and at best, is break even as an energy source. It takes as much or more energy to make as the finished product delivers.
But the farmers love it!.............. We should all call our Reps. and Sen. and make them put a stop to the ethanol fiasco!!

we have a new law here in Fl that took effect 7-1 that allows any fuel station to sell non-eth fuel if they wish, and I have already seen a few stations that now offer it.
I bet more will follow.
I live in El Paso,Tx and when I checked pure-gas.org for ethanol free station in town and they listed none.So I ordered a test kit from fuel-testers at www. Fueltestkit.com.Theres 2no different tests you can do if you know theres ethanol
in the gas you can test for percentage. They also have a quick check fluid that test for ethanol.Since i've received the kit i've been testing a few stations around town and have found some to be ethanol free even though the pumps are
labeled for 10% ethanol. So I believe since ethanol is added at the station its not always being added so its worth testing for yourself.I'll be listing more ethanol free stations in El Paso as I find them.
Don't the farmers drive cars also? Or are they sneaking fuel out of their pure gas farm fuel?
Bet they don't put it in their small engines. Most of them probably drive diesels. Don't matter, corn quadrupled in price because of ethanol, they're happy!
