Default Anyone ever have trouble getting there pipes centered?

after installing my cfr muffs a few days ago I realized the my mufflers are not centered, meaning the space between the mufflers and the fender are not the same. There was about a 1/4 in. Difference between one side and the other. Which means it only needed to shift about 1/8 in to split the difference. I adjusted the header some to try to shift things over in the direction they need to go but it's hard to get them where I want the since the mufflers are rubber mounted they kinda sit where they want to. Any tricks I'm missing here? Before I started adjusting things the header mount was all the way in, meaning the header was as close to the frame as it could get. The exhaust needs to shift towards the air cleaner side of the bike so I'm wondering if the header mount should be spaced away from the frame some. I moved it out alittle but still doesn't sit perfect.

Yep, the left side is usually the issue. I got mine close but there's still a slight difference. You can't see it while riding!!!!!!

i think your CFR's are just junk, need to pull them off immediately and send them to me and ill suffer with them LMAO. im still wating on mine

ive not had that problem with my pipes nlining up like that, it would kill me if so lol, now i did orginally have issue with how far they stuck out past the bags not matching, just a few minor adjustments and was good. spacing the head pipe slightly should help. remember it doesnt need much and if you space it 1/8 that far forward the end should move at least 1/4.

when hanging pipes, it is good to have the bike on a lift- or otherwise held upright.

get a Pal to be an extra set of eyes or hands

Contrary to a lot of people's better judgement, I find its better to leave the exhaust clamps loose at the head (slightly) and start at the rear of the bike and tighten and center as you come forward to the engine. I've yet to have a set that was so far out of alignment that I couldn't make them seal up when I was done.

I don't have the problem centering them so much as having one stick out more than the other....ESPECIALLY now that I've got CVO bags, its REALLY noticeable! I mess with that for a while to get it even!! Being a perfectionist is good.....right?!? LOL!!

Wow! I thought I was spooled pretty tightly. If it is as small as you claim, loosening the clamp on the front of the muffler and rotating the muffler slightly clockwise or ccw will change the left/right position slightly. But then the hangers won't be perfectly level within the cushion slots. What is your left/right reference? If your bike has ever tipped over, the fender/muffler supports may have been pushed slightly to one side. A good shove may be all that is needed to make you happy.

Thanks for the tips. I have it real close now but close is another word for not perfect so I will play with it again and I'm sure I will get it. Just seems like it impossible to get it perfect when the rubber hangers don't hold it where it needs to be.
