Honestly i haev never cleaned the bike except cleaning/polishing the chrome and hand/spray washing the smooth painted parts.
The gritty/matte paint finish on the engine and heads is a PITA to try and clean, what are your suggestions for that finish>?
I am goin go clean and polish up those bolts and see if it returns after another round of rides!!! Thanks for the heads up
S100 or HD Engine Brightener...Spray it on the black surfaces, let it set up overnight and then buff any chrome pieces it contacted...Engine will look like new...Apply it every few months to keep that new look...
That looks like assembly oil. Head bolts get a light coat of 20-50 oil on the shaft and on the bottom face of the head bolt to prevent friction from interfering with the torqueing process. Its appearance is normal.

I bought a brand new factory evo for a chopper-did the same thing. It's the oil they use on the threads during assembly.Heat is making it sweat out.It will eventually stop.Any black painted surfaces on the engine I highly recommend Pig Spit.
