I lost the front cam bearing on the cam support plate and wiped out my oil pump and CSP (cams and everything else looks ok) I am thinking that I will go to the updated hydraulic kit where should i go to get the best price (e-bay or..) and is there anything else i will need for the change and thanks in advance!
oh yea it is a 05 flht w/58k and SE 211 cams
Have you checked your oil filter yet?
Hopefully there are no shiny bits in their .
Shop around at some of your local dealers for the new Hydrologic
updated support plate and oil pump.
You might be able to find a 15-20% off dealer in your state .
Have you thought about time saver push rods or are you going with the OEM as well.
Just my.02's.
Rob
thanks yes I put the adj PR in @ 36K when I did the tensioners & cams
the cage gave up on the ball bearing
all the dealers around here quit ALL discounts for everybody
You will need an inner cam removal/replacement tool and a good bearing press for pressing the cams into the cam plate. I bought my inner cam removal tool on ebay for $120! More than 1/2 the price of the tool on J&P or elsewhere. Check your pinion run-out and if withing limits... .003 or less, I'd definitely go with gear drive cams. Well worth the price and the worries of chains and tensioners are gone for good!
well i went with the hyd.cam plate kit 4 new lifters and all new bearings for $740 with tax
crank shaft run out was ok flushed it out good and did a couple quick oil changes
so far so good i went on a ride up the west coast of lake mi on M-22 put a thousand miles on so far oil still looks real clean
I just happen to have a low mileage (16k) 07 oil pump, cam plate with hyd tensioners and Ill even throw in the stock cams and lifters for $120 shipped. Its from my sons bike that just went 103 with SE stuff.
