I am currently on my fourth set of handlebars for my current Electra Glide and I simply cannot get rid of my back pain. It seems that while with each set of bars the pain moves around (lower vs. shoulder pain), there is a constant pain. I have had the stock bars, 10" Wild 1 apes, 12" Khrome Werks apes, and now chrome HD Electra Glide SE bars (about 1/2" higher than stock).
What I am looking for is a handlebar that has the same grip angle as stock, and about the same width (I don't want wide) but about 2-3 inches taller with more pullback. I have had Sweepers +2 on an old bike and hated them, as well as WO575 which were too wide for me. I also tried Yaffe 10" monkey bars but the grip angle was too straight. As you can see... I've tried a few bars with my last two E.Glides.
I'm starting to think that there is not a bar that will work for me. Any help would be appreciated but please only suggest bars that fall within the guidelines that I suggested above.
Do you ride with a back rest? I too suffer from lower back pain but if I ride with my backrest and alternate between putting my feet up on the highway pegs and floorboard I have no trouble. Even bought a tour pack relocator to give the wife more room so the back rest wouldn't bother her on long rides. May not work for you but it just a thought.

+1 a back rest does a world of good! Have you tried one yet?
I have the HD mini apes it brings it up 2 inches and closer 2 inches but it does change the angle of the hands. But that with a backrest did the trick for me. I recently did a cross country trip and on the way back rode 700 plus miles a day with no problem.

Thanks.
You might want to reconsider whether you really want your hands higher. It sounds like all of the bars you have tried get your hands higher but that hasn't worked. The most comfortable bar I ever had were the Chubbys 508's (on a RK), which brought my hands much closer and lower(my upper arms were pointing almost straight down) and were 32.5" wide (stock is 31.5). It required some getting used to in tight turns as it was basically a narrow beach bar, but I could ride all day long with no back or wrist issues. Now I have a SG and am in search of that elusive perfect bar. I have been exchanging emails with John at Chubbys and he is almost finished getting out a similar set of bars that will work on a Bat Wing. I'm just thinking that sometimes a nudge to think out of your own box leads you where you want to go. Good luck! Oh, don't forget a backrest. That cannot be overemphasized!
+1 backrest. I got wo578 and the bike is great with my new seat with back rest and them bars. I have constant back pain from accidents etc and im good to go.
Just that little bit of pressure from the pad will keep that lower spine massaged and that combined with the occasional change of foot placement from the floorboards to the highway pegs with various combinations will help to keep that lower back from wrenching up.
Check out www.helibars.com They are a 4 way fully adjustable bar. A buddy of mine put them on last year. I am getting them installed at Sturgis this year.
