Saw this on fleabay and it looks pretty cool. Item says it is like HD part #79179-08. It's the "like" part that concerns me. I like that is has a LED light in it, but am wondering if the metal and chrome is worth a sh*t?
I Went to that link several times and as far as I can read nothing said it wasn't the real thing from hd.
The seller seems to have 2000 reviews all 5 star ratings.
I believe it's a good buy and the real thing.
Personally that model looks like a shopping cart rack to me.
Have you looked at the Stealth Hd model?
I don't know if Stealth can light up but it looks better in my opinion.
Good luck.
I don't think it is HD, The ad says similiar to hd part #, also in the desc where it says brand it states aftermarket. You can ask theseller if its a real hd unit or aftermarket. Just make sure you know exactly what your buying.
as above it is marketed as "aftermarket"- I would take issue with the seller's use of the HD name.
so it's a "fine-print" thing
it could be identical to the HD and a great deal...or not.
Only someone who has bought that exact item could judge.
the airwing rack w/ led came on my bike- my wife has said that the leds really stand out on the road at night- but the premium rack on my old bike held my stuff better.
If shopping today, I'd buy the less expensive premium rack

I wondered about that Mike. We would definitely be using it to carry items on so I might be wiser going with the premium rack.

if you go to the hd website and look at the real one, it has 'harley-davidson' engraved into it above the rear led. this one is smooth.
its also $10 more than the real thing.... ah, but the leds are an extra purchase at about $50. course, if you get the items from a 20% discounter the end result will be close to the same price

Scratch Thank you for pointing that out.
To the op I'm sorry about that. It appeared HD to me but obviously not.
Sorry about that.

Rax
the premium has a larger, flatter center area and large duffel bags feel more secure.
also I use a HD SAC roll bag and the straps line up with premium...on the airwing, the center bar is inline with the vecro straps...so I had to alter the strap
