Ditto on half to 3/4 oil left in pan unless you scavenge it to get all the old oil out.And even then you force the old oil out by adding new.

So I added 4oz. to bring it to about 3/4. It reads the same cold or hot. Had the 1000 done at the dealer and it came back at the full mark. Most likely not going to do any harm at half way. I always keep my cars at the full. Just doesn't make sense to have a dip stick that has a reads full, but then you really shouldn't get it full? Kind of like Harley torque values. Tighten it somewhere between this and that should be good.

remember, not all bikes have the se stage 1 ac. and i'm sure that when they build the bikes, the full mark is the full mark for the bike in stock form. it isn't until we start fiddling with them that these 'quirks' show up.
