41 years old, switched from softail to SG in June and can't believe I waited so long....These are no longer "geezer" glides....nearly all of my bagger buddies are in their 30s and early 40s!! Also, I did think it was very sluggish...it bothered me!!!! But once I did the PCV, stage 1 AC, and V&H ...its no longer sluggish.......I was comparing it "stock" to a modified Deluxe that I rode for 7 years......now, I'm happy
You liked the stereo, did you try the fly by wire cruise control?
Did you realize that you also had ABS brakes.
I briefly engaged the cruise control on the GSP but I prefer to not use it. ABS kicked in while coming to a stop on some gravel. It freaked me out. When it kicked in it felt like the front end was rattling underneath my hands, prob because I'm not used to it. I'm not really looking for those creature comforts on my bike, that's what I look for in my cages.
I very rarely ride more than 100 or so miles a day. Most of the time I cruise to a D&D w/ buddies or do a Sunday ride w the local H.O.G chapter. My buddies and I are competitive when it comes to our scoots, we mod the sh*t of of 'em so we can sit in a parking lot and drool over our work.
I can picture myself on a road king w some apes and a windshield set up for some touring in the future when hopefully my work and husbandry don't occupy sooo much of my time... And I have more "disposable" income
Just don't ever get on a Road Glide, all that scrunched up feeling just goes away and the tunes are still there with no turbulence steering on the super slab. OH, did I just give away our shark nose secret? OH Well better now than later. 6'1" 280# and lovin' every ride! BTW, enjoy the ride!

Yeah, those things keep getting in the way of my fun time too...
Don't think I could ever live w/o a bagger though now....
[The next morning I dropped it off and decided to wait 10 years before giving in to the bagger bug.]
Had my first soft tail after 15 years of rigid frames. Thought that was the best thing since FM radio. Then I got a buddys road king. Give you less than a year.
I gotta say, I'm really liking the cruise control. When I bought my Fat Boy the wife was asking why I didn't go with the Road King since I loved the look so much. I liked the FB too and said I wasn't old enough for a touring bike. Yeah, you see what's pictured in my sig. 41 years old and I really don't consider it an old man's bike. Not really into music while riding but boy howdy you can't deny what a great riding bikes the touring class are. My FB was lowered 2" looked great (to my liking anyway) but after a long ride, I felt violated. Different story now, granted I don't plan on lowering this one.
