The seat is a monster though, it's freakin HUGE! I'm keeping my stocker when it's just me riding solo...... I don't think I could deal with the look of the sundowner without a passenger, and I like my stock seat ok, it's broken in now that I have 2500 mi on the bike now.
I have a 2013 model...... Here's some before and after pictures of stock seat profile vs sundowner profile...... And at 12hdrk, I can see how short guys would have a problem! The seat will sit you about an inch closer to your bars, I'm 6' but the bucket portion of the seat cradles the rider, and what's her face has a wider pillion and more padding for her butt!

I'll post a pic of a butt cradler as soon as I can. My LePera continental has a 16" wife butt cradle that beats them all. A bit firm but wide and contoured.
LePera Maverick was the absolute most hardest seat I had the misfortune of ever planting my *** on my softail.
I equated it to riding on a vinyl covered brick.
Needless to say, it was off of the bike after a 45 minute ride and sold.
Damn shame....... That's a really good lookin seat! I am going to get a lepera bare bones set up for 2 up, I think it'll look good for in town trips and bar hopping, not sure what to do about passenger back rest though, I haven't seen one that followed the small profile of the bare bones.
I'll tackle that after I get here burly apes on, 13" with stainless cables..... I'll chronicle the ball busting event here on the forum if anyone is interested

LePera is known for "firm" seats. I actually like it. Not a brick as you describe but certainly not cushy. To each his own. That's why there are hundreds of seat varieties out there. Also custom work like MCC.
I personally like a firm seat...... Keeps my butt from "wrinkling" up...... I used to have a bad lander on my softail, I could go for hours on that thing..... I love my sundowner, but I know once it breaks in more, the vinyl covering will wrinkle a little, and that gets a little uncomfortable, but I'll just pull it tight and re-staple it.
Had a local seat place, Bitchin Stichin in Lakewood Colorado take the passenger seat off my 2013 Heritage and added memory foam and gel for $160.00.
Passenger now rides in comfort on her perch.
The sundowner on your bike looks great! Nice choice.
Now if you were to clean it using Amsoil, your bike would run faster than ever ! lol
The contour of your original seat looks much like the original on my 08 Road King Classic. The wife described it as sitting on the narrow side of a 2 X 4 after about 30 minutes. Harley's affection for style over function almost forces people to buy new seats, kind of irritating that the comfortable ones aren't standard and the stylish ones are aftermarket. We also have the Sundowner. The driver's seat is not much different from the original, but the passenger seat is much improved.
