Booms in lower fairing?
I'm looking to install Boom lower fairing speakers and wondering how much difference they make.... I'm not adding an amp until later. 2013 FLTRX and have booms in the fairing now....

I installed them in my streetglide last year. No other mods ran them right off the stock deck. I loved them. I felt they added a lot to the overall sound and I must say I loved the looks of them. IMO they are well worth the money. Here is my write up from last year.

The Boom Audio stuff is not a waste of money....... spending tons of money on audio in an open environment like a motorcycle is a waste. You will only get to a certain sound quality level on the audio before wind, exhaust, and road noise overcomes your high dollar sound system.
I have a friend with over $1500 invested in his sound system, and at interstate speeds, his doesn't sound any better than mine. Yeah, it's LOUDER.... but not BETTER.
For bang for buck, Boom is money well spent. I have the Boom speakers, and the stock HK stereo......NO AMP. My volume control is usually set to half way...... and I can hear my tunes clearly at 75 mph.
I have the Boom lower speakers sitting in the garage, and will be installing them when I get back from a 3 day ride with the wife.......leaving as the sun comes up tomorrow. So if you feel like calling me out....... I'll be in Northern Wisconsin, enjoying the road.

I am running the boom speakers in my fairing and in the fairing lowers. I do have an amp as well. They sound great and I didn't spend an assload of cash in stereo upgrades. They also have a pretty strong warranty.

wiring harness
Wow.... just found out I might need a wiring harness since I have an FLTRX with lowers @ $106 or something ridiculous like that...... might have to go another direction.....

The only issue with "I'll add the amp later" is that you will need to run one that is for 2ohm speakers, I believe, most are for 4ohm. Someone into stereos can answer that part about the amps. I have BOOM speakers on my Ultra and recently put on the lowers speakers. I will agree that the BOOM speakers are pretty darn good for the cost, but the cost of the lowers didn't balance well with what I thought I gained in sound, just a little disappointed. I will say that I liked how they used the space where the useless pockets were and look nice. I do not have an amp and do not want one and can hear very well at highway speeds in most conditions.
