Default 21" Wheel advice

I am pretty close to pulling the trigger on a front wheel package but I am a bit confused on the implications of keeping the stock wheel set up on a 2012 Street Glide. I know this will change the ride height but what does that do to handling. Is lowering the front an inch the best option. I am 5' 10" so I am not worried about flat footing. I have Progressive 430's on the rear. I have done a million searches on this and other forums but seem to get many different answers. Bottom line, is it necessary or the best option in your opinions to lower the front or is stock setup fine.

Stock setup would be fine. If you want it to look tougher I would lower the front an inch. Either way works. You'll be used to the ride after a day of riding. good luck

I have an 09 SG with 21x18 wheels and I'm okay with it so far. I'm about 5'11". Running Progressive 944 in rear and stock up front but planning on setting up the front with Progressive 1" drop springs (i believe that's what they call it), just so I don't have that nasty nose dive while braking. Been riding with the wheel/suspension setup for several months now and no problems. If you plan on keeping the stock front fender, I do suggest you drill the 2 back mounting holes so that you can raise is higher as it will scrape the inner fender with the 21" front tire.

No problems here with 18" rear and 21" front. I did not lower anything and the difference in riding is negligible.

Which tyres are you chaps running, with your 21/18 combo? Just curious!

I run a 21 and 18 also at stock height with 13" shocks. 5'9". No issues. The bike rides great but if you want to lower it it will not hurt anything. I don't think it is necessary but if you want better front suspension then you can lower it at the same time. I avhe no plans on lowering my front end with the 21" wheel. I just picked up a stock height mono tube kit that I will put in when I get the time to do so.

Teh difference with a 21" on a bagger with an already high center of gravity is negligible compared to say a softail which has a much lower center of gravity.

We usually mount Metzelers but Avon's are a good option too.
