OK, so I have done a number of searches and found good info but not enough to make a decision. let me know if there is a thread that answers what I want. 13 SG. 150 lbs and ride 95% solo. Have stock shocks and have put them at 10 to 20. Doesn't matter, I feel every bump in the road. What should I change to in order to have a better ride? Thanks.
Progesssive 444 HD will do fine and half the price of JRi. I have the 440's (in black) on both bike and rides very smooth. I've had the Harley Tech ride my bike and comment on how nice it rides. MHO and 2 1/2 cents worth

At the Op weight the HD will be way to stiff for him even with a passenger.
Road King or Electra glide shocks will work they are a bigger shock and more travel, Street glide shocks are designed to lower the bike and less travel for a harder ride

Does Progressive make the 444 in a regular vs HD? Am happy to save some bucks if possible. Put the OE shocks to 5 lbs and still not good. Any opinions on the Harley HD shocks. Most likely too stiff for a skinny guy.
JRI's (13-b) here too. Much much better than stock. As one post said, not plush. Firm ride but not harsh like stock junk shocks with any amount of air. Never could get them set right. Talk to Howard at motorcyclmetal. Tell him forum steered you to him. He will give you an education on shocks. A bit gruff but a great guy and he will help you help yourself.
Let me ask you this question. Do you tighten up when you see you are about to hit a small hole in the road because you know you are about to feel a jolt as the bike rides over it?...
Well... I use to.
I switched to JRIs and have never looked back. When I ride over a hole in the road now, the bikes moves but I do not. Sometimes I still cringe expecting the jolt and almost laugh at myself when it does not happen.
For me, at 220 I ride the stock shocks at 10 psi, two up at 20-25 psi.
Try the flat zero mentioned.
Factory recommendations are way too high for my '11RKC.
Hey, try zero and more weight in the bags. Carry tools with you?
Try your current options first, many have thrown lots of moolah at it, with no better results...

Rode 240 miles today with the shocks at 3psi. Much better. Not sure about spending 450-800. Maybe Santa will bring me some.
