Put my deposit yesterday on a black cherry pearl EGC and dealer says I will have to come in 48 hours before delivery and pay them the rest of the money. WTF is this a Canadian thing or just my dealer, never have I had to do this before, when I bought my Metric they didn't even want a certified cheque. Not the right way to start a relationship with HD as far as I am concerned and doesn't make me feel all warm and comfy inside!!!!
Sounds off.. agree not a great way to give a new customer a warm fuzzy feeling. Maybe there is a reason that someone knows and will post to ease your mind.
I agree, not the best way to make you warm and fuzzy. Likely caused by someone having last minute money issues that left them holding the bag perhaps. Still crappy though.
Could be a dealer thing too. When I bought mine it was cash
on delivery not cash days before. They weren't even too concerned about a big deposit. Small deposit (5%) was enough.
I don't have to pay the rest on my bike until I go into the dealer to pick it up........ Just waiting for the word after the strike delayed my delivery date...... Was supposed to be March 1st.
