Yawwwn......
A 50k water cooled guinea pig and little more than "bold new graphics/colors" for the rest of the line?
And far as I can tell "project Rushmore" means nothing more than a promise to start listening to the people who actually ride the bikes.....gee, what a novel concept!!!
If this is the best MoCo can do knowing for three years that Indian would be coming out swinging, I might consider buying some Polaris stock.
They must have a contest at corporate headquarters on who can come up with the ugliest wheels for new models.
No voltage gauge and no place for oil temp either on the new faring. Wonder how that fancy touch screen will hold up to a rain or heaven forbid....a pressure washer??
And a whopping 25 watts per channel with 1% distortion and 5.25" speakers in the pods? Seriously?
And a $38K bike with no floating rotors up front? Geeze.
I like a lot of what they did. I'll reserve judgement on the fairing vent till I see one in person. I like that they upgraded the front suspension, if the liquid cooled heads make the bikes more comfortable that's a win. Audio seems to be the big upgrade for owners of batwing bikes and you cant blame HD for trying to sell you upgrades on their stock, fancy system rather than have you rip out their head units etc. I bet there will be some great amp and speaker upgrades from Boom Audio soon. The saddlebags would take some getting used to, with the latch in the rear side.
There's no way the liquid cooling will make for a "cooler" ride...ask anyone that has/had a liquid cooled touring bike and they'll tell you the same thing. The liquid cooling will help with coaxing more HP out of the engine and for emissions. The boost in audio output means nothing..you would really have to boost it by 50% (40 watts) to notice anything in volume difference.. the important thing is whether the point where the audio system distorts has been brought up higher in output range...that could be a huge difference.
