I visited my dealer on Wednesday. The story I heard is that the 4 point docking hardware is different for the 2014 in relation to where it mounts to the bike, however all the detachable pieces (luggage racks, back rests, etc.) will still fit on the new hardware.

From my understanding, this explains why the frame is slightly different and requires new hardware, yet there are not new luggage racks and backrests listed in the catalog.

Based on the logic of old backrests mounting on new hardware, the new TP should mount to the old hardware. Saddlebag clearance issues, as previously mentioned, are another story altogether.

I don't think they changed the frame, it looks like the changed the strut covers to close the gap made by the new bags. The 14 docking hardware is mounted under the strut cover where mine is mounted on top of them.

Ok, I saw one today. Bottom line. I'll make it work cause its way nicer.

As far as the side bags go the dudes in the service department and the owner of my local HD shop all told me they put a set of the new saddle bag on and older bike. Put em right on like any other bag. So there ya go.

Sweet! Great news for sure Craig! I'm gettin' pretty excited about this new chopped TP. Can't find any good pics of it yet. Gotta get me a new catalog. Navigating the site just ain't getting it done. Can you provide a pic or link of the new chopped TP?

Everything I've been looking at has been on the catalog on line. Not the site but an electronic copy of the catalog. There is a pic of the chopped on in the catalog. Paper copy's won't be a available till after the first of the month.

The fillers between the bag and fender have a big open space the size of CVO lights. I'm guessing they intend for owners to install them when they decide to detach.

You can order one that doesn't have that or the lights across the back on it. Listed for the Street Glide and Road King in the catalog....no lights. You could do the same with the old style. They have the side running light that can be added just like before which I might get just to have more lights on it. Just a simple plug under the seat that can be tucked away when its off.

New Chopped: 10.7" W: 27.0" L: 21.6" Toatl: 4500 CI

So the new chopped has more CI space the the old king.
Old Kings, New Kings - which one was on a stock Limited?
Which one is on a stock 2014 Limited?

The Limited I saw at a local dealership yesterday MUST have had a New Chopped since the height definitely looked much less than the tourpak on my current '10 Limited.

I need that height for our full face helmets.

If the New Chopped is the stock one supplied on a Limited - can you order a 2014 with a King?
