Good luck as this can take a while if it isn't simple.
YOU are the MAN! That 2nd MAP you sent did the trick perfectly. Thanks a million, much appreciated.

Thanks to all who replied with help and suggestions. Bike is running strong right now. Hope this stays this way.... :-)

Something else I noticed after a hour ride tonight. Temps here have been in the 90's. My oil temp in all previous maps after warmed up and riding had been around 250 degrees. With this new Map, after about a 45 minutes it was around 190. Can it be that much difference? It must have been running way lean? Is it too rich? It runs stronger than ever right now. Just want to be sure I am not doing any damage.

You are right, never should have been let out the door like this, I agree. I spent a lot of time AND money sweating this out. And it was from this forum that got me back in the wind. THANKS

It is intentionally rich. If the mileage is low let me know what it is and we can make some adjustments. Gonna have to sneak up on it. Also look at the plugs and if sooty black too rich if brown probably ok. I would run the Autotune Pro and see what it does. You can always go back to same map just don't overwrite it. I just went and looked at the 205 map and it will be ok on mileage as it doesn't look overly rich to me. If it isn't blowing black smoke at idle unless you gas it or blip the throttle hard or smothering down and idling erratically it is ok. If you get pinging need to address that pretty quickly. If it is going to ping it will be around 3000 rpms at less than full throttle while accelerating for gear changes. If you go wide open it will probably stop. I don't measure oil temp but do monitor engine temp and mine runs about 225 when it is in mid 90's. It will get up if you push it to 260°, but that isn't hurting a thing. I am talking cruising at 80 plus to do this. I suspect your original map that came on the PV was a strategy 9. That works sometimes, but been bit several times by wrong strategy. I am definitely going to start checking for correct strategy. Got bit by a 2009 cvo with 9 strategy instead of 205 couple of weeks ago. The instructions that came with a friends SEPST said to first check and make sure you use the correct strategy for the bike. I mostly tune on 2010 up Touring models so I forget to look.

ke5rbd:
I rode it this AM to full temp, my oil temp gauge read 230. I must have read it wrong or looked before it was up to temp. Who knows with me, old age is setting in! Anyway I did not notice any smoke or pinging. Bike runs strong. I do have a question though. When flashing all other MAPS prior to this one, including your first one, I noticed they all loaded very fast, like in about 20 30 seconds. The MAP that worked took at least twice as long to flash? Do you think maybe the other flashes did not take? Is it normal that some load slow? It is just a strange that every other time they loaded so quick, and the one that worked took much longer in comparison. What do you think?

It probably had something to do with switching for one strategy to another. I have noticed the same thing, but never got curious about it. I will pay attention to it. It took or it would not have even run. If you try to flash with one that is incompatible it won't go, and will tell you something like incompatible code or something. The pcv will do the same thing. If you try to import a PCV file to the PV it will make you have the same strategy.
