You know it is in our best interest to look out for each other.

Don't even bother using this company if you are in the market for tires.

They have good prices and thats where it stops.

Left two voicemails and no response. Sent an email and told them I would make sure the forums I belong to knew, and they responded immediately.

Good price, NO Service.

Tires Unlimited is a few bucks more and answered on the second ring, and will ship tommorrow. 18 bucks difference.

POOR VENDOR ALERT!!

Hello All,
New to the board here. I was turned on to this forum by the very classy person who started this thread. This is great. It seems that this forum has a lot of great resources for motorcycle enthusiasts and Harley riders alike. Very cool. I am an employee of American Motorcycle Tire, who rides a Road King and will definitely be spending a lot of time on this forum. The story behing me being able to join this forum is very funny, please read:

Smikkelsen called our customer service line on an inquiry about some tires yesterday and today. Great! We were having phone line upgrades done to our operating system that forced us to use an answering service in which we had to perform callbacks. A small setback. We finally returned Smikkelsen's call in which we explained the situation and were very appologetic about the operation that was being undergone at our sales office. Soon thereafter I personally received two threatening emails of potential badmouthing on a couple of popular forums. Ok, well, it happens. Not one company on the face of the earth can have 100% customer satisfaction.

I just want Smikkelsen to know that it was my fault. I was assigned to call you back, and I agree I should have done it sooner. Very, very sorry. I had a long list of people to call (in order) due to the phone work that was being done at our office. I am a man of accountability and like to own up to my mistakes.

I hope everyone reading this thread realizes that this situation is not the fault of the company I work for but that of my own.

My appologies to you Smikkelsen, but I will tell you this is a CLASSLESS ACT. No worries, I am a big believer in Karma and I know what goes around will come around. You claim to look out for each other. Most all of us that work at American Motorcycle Tire Ride, and we feel you turned your back on us as well; ESPECIALLY because you didn't even give us a chance. Given that we could have communicated after I provided you with my personal contacts, your order would have shipped today (SAME DAY) and you would have saved that extra $18.00 bucks.

Not a very manly thing to do when you post something like this and then send me the link to my email aco****. HOW OLD ARE WE????????????? This is 5 year old mentality.

Everyone here can take this with a grain of salt. I realize this is my first post and I am sure the flames will start being thrown; however, I plan on being a frequent member here. This seems to be a great forum.

Thanks Sikkelsen for the great reccomendation. A little sour, but a great discovery!!

While I never tried to call AMT, I did order two tires for the wife's Heritage from them. The price to my door for a front and rear D402 Dunlop 16"WWW was 208.00. I ordered on a Saturday night, and had the tires Tuesday. I recommended AMT to a friend in need of tires, and he ordered 2 rear D402's one for the bike, and one for the sidecar. He had his tires in less than a week.

I have also recommended this company to other members on this forums as I was very pleased with the value and the timely service that I got.

Smikkelsen,

Sorry about your experience, but it is certainly not what I or my friend experienced. RoadKingBlitz's explaination above seems to make sense to me, so you might want to consider giving them another chance. Might save you some bucks, and you might have a more pleasant experience next time. Just a thought.

Regards,

Bill

Bill on your recommendation i went to them ordered on line and got my tire, the cheapest I could get anywhere. From another forum on diesels I was recommened to a company for boost and pyrometer gauges for my truck. Bought them they arrived and one of the gauge was missing the hardware to hook up. They sent a new one same thing. Talked with them on the phone and found out it was the gauge mfr didnt put the hardware in the kit, all of thier stock was the same way. took a few days they straightened it out and sent the parts. No problem.

Sometimes things happen like this or above, If you order from the internet you have to plan on things like this. With the shipping time, if something is wrong it only makes the problem seem worse. We are a society of people who want immediate gratification, that is why there are local tire stores and HD dealers and parts houses so we can go and get what we want and touch it right away. You do have to pay a price for this just like in a conveinence store. Witht he 1000's of people that one internet dealer might deal with in a day vs 100's for a reatiler you must take into account that this will happen.

Im off my sop box now andhaving said that fi within a reasonalbe amount of time and after speaking with a person or 2 your issue isn't resolved then NUKE EM.

Have a nice day

I call em as I see em!

As we say with most "one timer", don't come on here just to solicit business.

Your company had every opportunity to service and sell me, you screwed up, and I made it known.

No body is even talking about tying age to a forum viewpoint.

Go back to sleep, that's why your phone doesn't get answered. Ha Ha.

This thread stands until the next flame gets thrown.

This forum is not to call names.

We've heard from both, and I'm willing to continue to hear from both, but name calling (5 year old, purposefully digging, "go back to sleep...ha ha)...[sm=badidea.gif]

These things are best handled directly between both parties, not on this forum.[sm=bicker.gif]

One more and it's locked.

Both parties may consider themselves warned.

"As we say with most one timers, don't come here just to solicit business."

It doesn't seem to me that RoadKingBlitz came here to solicit business. He seemed to be trying explain himself and defend his company. Even if his personal slam was a little over the top, he did apologize to you, and take full responsibility for your difficulties. At this point I'm not sure what else he could do to make you happy.

You my friend, with only one of two posts, seem to have come here just to complain about his company.

I also call them as I see them, and this company has done everything they said they would do when dealing with me, and with the people I have recommended them to. I am in no way connected to this company, I just found them while surfing for tires, and at the present time, I'm glad I did. Fast service and the best price I could find anywhere.

Regards,

BIll
