Default baker attitude adjusters

i'm seeing where people are having problems with them bending after a couple of miles. any one else having problems with these primary adjusters for baker? it's alot of money out the window if they don't perform like they are suppose to.

Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. Buy one run it and check it and see if it bends. If it does i think baker will take care of you. I think you will be happy. I read these forums all the time and seen one adjuster that failed. But i don't believe it even broke because i seen it on the forums. There is no way you can break a chain adjuster doing burn outs clutch dumping or wheelies or 500-hp can not break a adjuster. If the motor is turning counter clock wise that means the clutch is turning counter clockwise that means all the chain tension is on the top of the chain and the slack is in the bottom where the adjuster is when raising cane. Then when does the adjuster ever see a load. It see's the load when you de-cel or slam the brake one and not pull the clutch in. How often do you do that. I don't think the older models with a MU85 rear tire that will be a 140 or the new bikes with a 180 rear tire will get a hold of the road enough to break or bend a adjuster under any kind of braking.

Thanks 96inchBOB, we stand behind our products if you break it we'll pay for it. We would certainly like to know how you broke it though. We pride ourselves on our ability to abuse things and we have not broke one yet.

I have been running once since release. I have a 120r with a GMR compusaver. The baker works great for me, AND... IIRC, baker upgraded from my Attitude to an even better one.

I know of only one person that has screwed one up. Most else could be internet BS. I'm unsure.

The one that screwed up? VERY VERY hot 124 running with no compensator. Straight gear drive. That one snapped on a burnout.

With my 120r? That is the least of my worries for sure. The other site HTT? I'm banned from there, so I do not know about that.

I have an Ultra and 130 tq, and I do NOT ride lightly at all. Until I, myself, were to see something... I would still recommend one. And... that is surely over an SE adjustable. Those make noises.

I would wish to hear what site these reports are on, because I would like to see what Baker has to say about these reports. Mark@Baker... very good to see you over here.

There are pictures on I believe HTT that show one bent, the original poster said he did not remove the compensator before installing it which leads me to believe he tried hammering it in or something.

Bert Baker and his crew are top notch folks IMHO...All their stuff is or was race track proven directly by him or other associates fully before they release anything.

Hard to believe this and if it's true Bert wants to know I'm sure...He's stands in front and behind his American made products 100%. It's not to say something got by quality control? Just let him know and no I don't work them...

I only opted for another type since my bike is new I didn't want at this time to go busting into the primary to add it. And yes...that product line is not cheap...None of it is really...IMHO.

Here's a thread where it mentions bending a Baker:

Mine's coming in a couple days, and I've got the comp sprocket off to the side waiting for it's arrival.
