Gents,
Just got this bike last week. The owner died and I bought it from his wife. She doesn't have any records or know anything about any upgrades. The bike has stage 1 air cleaner and slip on's. How can I tell if it has any kind of tuner? I'm coming off a carbed evo so please bear with me. This bike runs quite hotter than my evo so not sure if it even has a tuner. If not what's involved with installing one?
I doubt, since it only has had a stage one done to it, that it has anything other then a computer flash done to it. If you know where he bought it from then I go there and have them pull the records. Otherwise I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you want to make totally sure then look into a Thunder Max tuner (swaps out the stock ECM).
Tucker99,your new to you bike may already have a power commander installed.
Look under the ride side side cover to see if it is installed there.
It will stand out plain as day when you pop that cover off.
Then all you will need is the usb cable and some software or the cable and a dyno tune.
