Exhaust input
2007 RKC....I have a stage 1 with screamin eagle race tuner. Looking for a nice deep deep rumble at idle and a nice bark when taking off if i want to and a nice deep rumble when cruising. Cams have not been done. Any suggestions on header, pipes, cams to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. I've heard true dual rhineharts and not quite what I'm looking for. Also heard some V & H but cannot remembers specifics. Like the sound but would prefer a little louder then what I heard. Open for anything and really like the potatoe potatoe sound.
you should go to a bike night or other event where there are bikes.
everybody with a computer and a couch will describe their pipes using the exact terms you do in your post..."blah, blah, bark when I blah blah"
really it's true.- and if you were to search the forums for posts with the word "bark" in them, you get over 42,000 results
as for the taters, that sound really exists with older model bikes.
the pans and shovels had hemi heads, a coarse fuel mixture and sometimes manually adjusted ignition timing...and could idle at 600 rpms.
the twin cams need to idle at over 1000 rpms to keep the works oiled and emissions down- they just don't and never will sound like that.
i often joke that i should sell cd's of my panhead idling to guys with late models, they can play the cd on the monster stereo at bike night.
really, a bike night is a great way to hear a lot of pipes and do some bench racing. Judge for yourself what you like
some of the guys here have gone through 3 or 4 sets of pipes...$$$$
