Yep, stock is 12". I took that one off and bought a 10" light smoke from HD, not to bad. Took that one off bought a cheap 8" off of e-bay dark smoke. Took that one off and bought a 7" dark smoke from Cee Baileys.

Like the man said, CeeBaileys is the way to go. I am 5"8" and have the 12" CeeBaileys which is equal to a stock 9". I look over it by 1.5-2".
BTW, Before I changed out my windsheild I measured up from the top of the fairing and made horizontal lines with a grease pencil to represent different WS heights. Then I would sit on the bike and check sight lines. I gradually cut my stock 12" down to 9". Then I made the switch to a CeeBaileys.
I cut mine down also. Took about 2 & 1/2" or so off so I could see over it. I don't like looking throughthe windshield, and if you get it just right the wind stays off your head yet you can still see over.
I hate to mess with mine. My last bike, I had bad head buffiting. This Ultra has none. I saw a wing the other day. His head was going all over the place. But, you guys are right. Can't see sh$t when the shield fogs up or gets wet.
