If $$$$ are a big part of the issue do what you can. With the new bags come up soon just do the front for now and add later. Anyone that gives you lip tell them they can buy it for you and you will glady put it on just to make them happy.

I asked the same question a few weeks ago. I went ahead and ordered just the front. I did so simply because I found a great deal on a complete DNA setup with polished rotors, white wall tire, all fully assembled. I plan to install a wide white wall on the back to match, but keep my stock wheel. Because I have a 2013 Ann. Model Road King, my wheels are chrome, so I am hoping that helps match the front fat spoke fairly well. Either way, I am starting with just the front. Only if I have a personal crisis, will I order up a rear matching wheel.

I sanded and polished the rear wheel on my 08 Ultra. All your gonna see is just a fraction of it anyway. Looked good enough for me.

i would get a chrome stock wheel and throw it on back. it will look fine, but if you leave the rear stock and put chrome on the front it really does stand out BAD. see it all the time

Get the front for now.
If it bugs ya that the rear dose not match, then get one....Simple.
I like the stock 2014 front wheel and rotors to me they match good enough.
In the future I will be looking for a take off.

I've never seen anyone give someone else a hard time about having the stock rear wheel...its their bike/money. I find it happens more on forums than some guy actually walking up and pointing it out.

But here is what I've seen: I've seen guys with stock rear wheels point out "their own" non-matching rear wheel....it's as if, they see it, they think others see it, so they point it out to those who have matching wheels because they have just noticed that they actually can see the back wheel....it took for the matching front/rear wheel guy(s) to pull up.

Having said that...get what you want. Some give me a hard time because I went with 19 on the front vs 21....well, for the price of the 19/18 CVO wheels----I jumped on it. And some of my friends with 21 front and stock rear say they wish they had just got my setup when they hear that I got both cheaper than their front. I want both done--but if not, I like the chrome exchange idea for the rear...at least the black contrast will be gone. There is a RG in my group like this....but my highly trained Army eye can see the difference.

I've seen really nice baggers in shows and when you get down and look under the stretched bags it's a stock wheel or just a solid disc type wheel. I say why not .

Matching yes, solid chrome or black disk on the rear yes to that as well. Stock on the rear and custom up front no.
Many seem to say its no big deal but we do notice and talk among ourselves that if they didn't finish the job on the wheels what else did they shortcut. Many just don't ask the bike owner cause we see that the job was only half done.
Now that being said its your bike so build it your way. For me I have matching wheels.
