Default Removing alarm

RE: 2002 Ultra
Went for a 100 mile ride yesterday. Just cruising along and the freaking alarm just goes off. Had to to pull over and shut everything down. Started back up and no alarm. Thinking I will never need an alarm and don't want all the foo-foo that goes with it. Is there an easy way of removing it without causing problems with something else?

I'm thinking the siren module probably has a bad connection. The internal battery will sound the alarm if the connection is lost briefly.
Might check the plug and make sure there isn't any corrosion.

Replace the TSSM with a TSM ($150), dealer will have to re-program the ECM ($50) and marry it to the new TSM.

Remove the alarm module that makes the sound. On my bike it is under the left side cover. Turn key on, when the bike is ready to start, pull the main fuse. You can then remove the alarm module.

Have you been riding in the rain a lot lately?

You can unplug the siren, but to completely remove the security it either needs to be programmed by the dealer to all "0" for the fobs or the tssm needs to be swapped for a tsm, something you can do by buying the part and doing a procedure called "tsm password learn"

I'd like to completely disconnect the entire alarm system. Not sure where to "uplug" it. Gotta check the manual when I get home.

As much as we ride and overnight in hotels, I like having it...and the insurance break for the alarm/siren/pager/LoJack is nice, too...
